What happens at these classes?
We use regulation apparatus to develop the full range of gymnastics skills including flexibility, balance, coordination and rhythm. Each week the gymnasts work on floor skills as well as 2 large pieces of apparatus. These could be bars, vault, tumble or beam.
But it doesn’t stop there as we also include other gymnastics disciplines including:
- Acrobatic Gymnastics with pairs and group balances
- Rhythmic Gymnastics using ribbons, balls and hoops
- Aerobic Gymnastics featuring fast dance and strength routines
- Display Gymnastics working as a team or individually to prepare routines to show
What do the gymnasts achieve?
We guide our gymnasts through the British Gymnastics proficiency core and advanced awards schemes. On top of this, we continually reward progress and have our own Affinity rewards such as stickers, Gymnast of the Week and Star of the Term awards.
Once gymnasts have progressed to advanced level, they also have the opportunity to compete in club and regional events to win medals as well as performing in display events such as GymFusion
